Profile: I graduated from the National University in India, where I specialized in AI and Robotics. As an engineer, he moved to Japan 35 years ago and worked at notable companies such as Kobe Steel, Yaskawa Electric, Cirrus Logic, Intel, and NASA/Caltech's venture startups. Coming from an entrepreneurial family, he was driven by a mission to address global social issues like climate change, food loss, and pharmaceutical cold chains. After leaving Intel and earning an MBA from Fox Business School in the USA, he started his own company from scratch, which was self-funded; he founded I.T.E. in 2007. Today, the company serves over 250 clients and focuses on expanding into the Indian market.
Path to Current Work: A personal tragedy in childhood, losing his sister to an infectious disease, inspired him to improve the world's cold chain logistics. His mission is to create a seamless and environmentally friendly cold logistics system adaptable worldwide, tackling issues related to climate change, energy supply and demand, food loss, and pharmaceutical cold chains. Since 1988, he has faced numerous challenges as an engineer, developing perseverance and determination. He views his daily efforts as a mission, embracing the challenge of new markets and different business cultures.
Work Philosophy He was deeply inspired by Japan's innovation, commitment to manufacturing, and quality, which eventually became his style. Like Toyota's hybrid cars, the Japanese problem-solving approach combines business excellence, honesty, improvement, and a sense of purpose. His experience with American companies provided global marketing standards, while his Indian roots instilled core values from the teachings of Karma and Gita. This fusion of Japanese, American, and Indian cultures shapes I.T.E.'s business model. The Japanese phrase "the customer is god" underscores the importance of customer support in the company's success.
Thoughts on SDGs: He believes Japan should be the "world's role model for achieving SDGs." The SDGs align with the core values of Buddhism (compassion and karma). Despite its rapid post-war industrial growth, Japan has supported developing countries in every possible way, embodying these values. Known for their humility and lack of expectation for reciprocation, Japanese people offer lessons to the world through their habits and commitment to SDGs.
Message to the Youth: Take climate change seriously and act. Your children and grandchildren might have to live in harsh environments. Life is once. Use your mind, body, and soul 100% to make a positive impact on society and the environment. Enjoy the journey of perseverance, believe in your abilities, and avoid shortcuts. Success is a process, not a result. Strive to be a good person embodying the values of Japanese culture.
