Eden Whitcomb shared a poll last week asking the #community if they would like to be on the recieving end of a #generativeai inmail. This stemmed from #linkedin adding a feature on their recruiter platform that allows for such messages to be crafted. The draw back to such a feature is not only that messages become even less tailored but clearly it is a feature that a large portion of the community are not interested in anyway! It does make us wonder... how much market research went into this feature or was it a simple way to slap some #artificialintelligence into the system to boost interest 🤨 What do you think? #recruitment #inmail #perituspartners

It looks like a complete waste of time and energy to use LinkedIn as a professional platform to engage genuine employers to at least reject your application with some pretense of putting effort into going through your application and credentials. You get a standard rejection response word-for-word, regardless of how diversified employers are. It looks like a sole dependence on AI in the recruitment process.

Recruiters, LinkedIn has well and truly adopted AI when it comes to its recruiting tools in its "2024 Recruiter Release". This is what I think: AI-assisted candidate discovery aka Search Good idea, I like it and I'm looking forward to seeing if it's as accurate as a Boolean string. Smarter suggestions Excellent, looking forward to seeing if this can save time in broadening results. Simplified candidate outreach Unless we're able to write prompts so that it can write messages in my tone of voice, it's not going to work for me. It's potentially going to make every recruiter sound the same so the response rates will decrease. People aren't stupid. They know when AI has written something (at the moment). If you're reading this, LinkedIn - build in a way for us to properly prompt it. Actionable data and insights Data is always good. What do you think about the updates... and how much do you think they'll hike the prices up next yr?
