My old man was in advertising. This kind of stuff has been par for the course for decades. Maybe it’s time to go back to growing some food ourselves and / or supporting local farms, so that we don’t rely so heavily on processed crap that is made to look “good” in TV ads.

its marketing, its deception at best. This should stop. Imagine a car or furniture manufacturer stooping to this level of "creativity" to give their products the "looks".

I understand marketers try to present best their products; however, the concern comes to their and the sellers' ethic. There is an actual concern that sellers indeed using some similar dangerous techniques to make fruits, meat, fishes look better and fresher to fool buyers, and nobody knows what degree of harm these food do to a human body when consume. This actually happened in some places in Asia.

I've read the comments below, Wow! OK, these are tricks to make food and drink look better. So what? Did the ads ever change your mind? Or did the ads make you hungry? Never mind, let's all bash everything, hate the marketing, and not eat food. We will eat "almost meat".

I know many talented food photographers, and while some standard techniques, such as using a water and glycerin spray for droplets on bottles, are common, the focus remains on capturing genuine, appealing images without resorting to unethical tricks. For example, when photographing pizza (shooting for a client) , we use real cheese to ensure authenticity. Yes, yoiu need to know how to do it correclty! Despite the rise of AI, many clients still prefer real photographs, as their perception of authenticity versus artificiality becomes increasingly critical.

there's a place for #food photography but there's also the risk of over promising and under delivering when the food people get doesn't look anything like the pictures.

Creating visually appealing food in ads is crucial for captivating your audience. Consider incorporating behind-the-scenes footage showcasing the effort and artistry that goes into food styling. This transparency can build trust and resonate with viewers, enhancing your overall marketing strategy.
