A balanced diet is a foundation of good health. 🍓 For people with Parkinson’s disease, a balanced diet is even more important. In PD, there are some foods that may help to ease symptoms and help brain health, while others can affect the way medications work. While there are many things about PD that cannot be changed, the informed choice of diet can help people to live better with the disease. What’s the definition of a “balanced diet?” Why are we continuing to blindly follow the food pyramid when there are clear indications that diets that reduce inflammation and improve mitochondrial health and function can help to ease symptoms and to possibly slow down progression? The food pyramid also doesn’t account for the possible elimination or reduction of gluten in the diet, increasing ketosis, etc. Does the food pyramid help with constipation?
