Partnership to Empower Physician-Led Care’s Post

A new report from the Congressional Budget Office summarizes research related to Medicare ACOs and the factors that have contributed to or limited their ability to achieve net budgetary savings. CBO finds that ACOs led by independent physician groups are associated with greater gross and net savings for the Medicare program. The report highlights several policies that could increase savings, including making participation more attractive by restructuring and extending the Alternative Payment Model (APM) incentive payments.
