Concrete First Results on 100+-Qubit HPCQS_EU systems pave the way for Hybrid HPC/Quantum applications : GENCI/CEA, FZJ, and PASQAL announce significant milestone in hybrid computing #HPC #QuantumComputing In the context of the #SuperComputing 2023 SC Conference Series in Denver (#SC23), Grand Equipement National de Calcul Intensif (GENCI), Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (CEA), Forschungszentrum Jülich (Forschungszentrum Jülich), and PASQAL are demonstrating progresses in the framework of the European project High-Performance Computer and Quantum Simulator hybrid (HPCQS_EU). Indeed, HPC-Quantum Computing applications in finance, pharma, and energy are leveraging the upcoming quantum computers that are currently being installed at the supercomputing centers CEA/TGCC (France) and FZJ/JSC (Germany), providing already concrete results. On June 7th, United Nations has declared 2025 officially as the  International Year of Quantum Science and Technology  #IYQ2025 , recognising the importance and potential of quantum technologies. This global initiative aims to enhance national and international capacity both in sciences and science education. This falls during the second half of the #HellasQCI project, thus we anticipate for the launch of the relevant actions contributing also to celebrations of 100 years of #Quantum. On 22nd March, QTI participated in the Quantum Technologies Conference: Shaping Europe's Quantum Future in #Brussels. The Conference gathered high-level speakers from academia, industry, and governmental bodies to discuss the EU’s strategy for the next decade (the #QuantumDecade) and the role of quantum technologies in the global tech race. As a company operating in the quantum communications sector, we are aware of the importance to operate in an #ecosystem that can leverage the competencies and expertise of each component to advance quantum technology uptake. Member States’ signatures of the #QuantumDeclaration was also celebrated as the first step of the EU’s quantum journey. 🚀 Exciting News Alert! 🛰️ Thrilled to share our paper entitled, "NS-3-based 5G Satellite-Terrestrial Integrated Network Simulator," authored by Nour Badini, Mario Marchese, and Fabio Patrone.here's a snippet from the abstract of the published paper: "The Fifth-Generation of Mobile Communications (5G) is intended to satisfy the growing needs of users which can be summarised in the ability to access good quality services anywhere and at any time. Those needs can be supported by the integration of satellites in 5G systems due to the unique characteristics of satellites in terms of higher coverage, reliability, and availability. To minimize blind exploitation of new systems, new technologies should be verified and enhanced before being implemented to reduce the required cost and time. Creating a System Level Simulator (SLS) is an excellent way to evaluate new ideas and test novel systems. In this work, we present an open-source SLS based on the software Network Simulator 3 (NS3). We are pleased to host today colleagues from the Direction du numérique (DNum) to discuss needs and development of the IT infrastructure for the aQCess platform #quantumcomputing European Center for Quantum Sciences

A high-bandwidth #connectivity is a vital requirement for the #LHC experiments at #CERN. The future High Luminosity LHC (#HL-LHC) will increase the complexity of the data transmission as a huge amount of data (up to about seven times the current flow) will have to be distributed via the various networks that constitute the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (#WLCG) at an unprecedented data transport rate. Supported by expert teams in the CERN IT Department (Edoardo Martelli), SURF and Nokia have recently succeeded to reach the impressive throughput of 660Gbit per second using their new optical network connection with CERN.

And that marks the end of the OPTIMA project that I was part of. Demonstrating the usefulness of FPGA accelerators in HPC systems.
