We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of the Systems Transformation Hub at the European Parliament earlier this week. This pioneering initiative, a collaboration between Metabolic, EIT Climate-KIC, Systemiq Ltd., WRI Europe and The Club of Rome, marks a significant step towards addressing Europe's complex challenges through systemic solutions.    The Hub's mission is clear: to guide the European Union and its Member States in policy analysis and development, ensuring environmental sustainability and social cohesion are at the forefront of policymaking. As part of the update process, the public consultation on the topics of the Water4All SRIA is launched; the primary objective is to gather perspectives from stakeholders on the scientific scope of Water4All, who may be interested in taking part in this process. 🇪🇺 PUBLIC INVESTMENTS The Committee of the Regions advocates for strengthened economic, social, and territorial cohesion 📅 10th European Summit of Regions and Cities: The summit took place in Mons (Belgium) on March 18th and 19th. A major declaration was adopted, calling for ambitious public investments to address common challenges. 💡 Objective: These investments, backed by increased budgetary capacity and the EU’s new own resources, should aim for economic, social, and territorial cohesion. The guiding principle: “do no harm to cohesion”. 🔍 Post-2027 Perspectives: • A "robust" cohesion policy central to the EU's development model. • Adequate funding for the implementation of regional policy. • Decentralized and long-term investment policy. ✅ Key principles for post-2027 policy: 1. Accessibility for all regions, cities, and municipalities. 2. Anchoring cohesion in the industrial policy of the 'European Green Deal'. 3. The European Union faces the enormous challenge of having to achieve the necessary climate targets it has set itself, while at the same time increasing industrial competitiveness and ensuring public services of general interest. This will require considerable financial investment. A sustainable European financial architecture based on three pillars is needed to finance these green-social investments at EU level.
