Ariel Investments co-founders Mellody Hobson and John W. Rogers Jr. are making significant strides with their firm, Ariel Alternatives, acquiring a 58.5% stake in My Code, a multicultural media and advertising company. This $400 million acquisition, facilitated by the Project Black Fund, aims to enhance My Code's reach in addressing diverse audiences and closing racial gaps in information and opportunity. My Code's CEO, Parker Morse, expressed pride in the company's partnerships and is excited about the growth potential with Ariel Alternatives. The deal will boost My Code's reach beyond its existing 1,200 consumer media platforms, with plans to become a certified minority business enterprise and a major supplier to Fortune 500 companies. Alexander Jutkowitz of Falfurrias Capital, a former executive chairman of My Code and current board member, is optimistic about the company's continued expansion and its blend of profit and purpose under the new partnership.
