My favorite thing is finding unconventional ways to learn and to keep on top of markets, trends, and cultivate my own digital garden (https://lnkd.in/enm5Xs8e). In the past, I’ve done this through internships in everything from consulting to public relations, and even currently as a gallery associate High Line Nine. I created my LinkedIn profile when I was 16, and have learned immensely through my conversations with folks I’ve connected with. From advice on college admissions before starting at Barnard College, to countless calls to land my upcoming Bank of America internship, I couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who’s taken a chance on me and given me some of their most valuable asset- their time. Today, I’m starting a weekly newsletter on Linkedin for a few reasons. 1) I’d like to transparently communicate what I’m up to, what I’m working on, and what I’m interested in (this includes articles, opportunities, and roles from my network!) 2)I’d love accountability through the community I’ve found on Linkedin, and am always open to meeting and connecting with new people that I haven’t met yet! 3) I always appreciate recommendations- whether its resources, tools, things I should try, or places I should visit I love sharing my journey online for 2 reasons. One, it provides a clear blueprint for the steps I have taken to get where I am. I’ve followed similar women doing the same thing, and owe my success to them sharing their path, resources, and opportunities. Two, it provides a great reflection opportunity for me to look back on where I’ve started. So, look forward to every Tuesday morning at 10am- I can't wait to share with all of you! #networking #share #journey #newsletter #community

Check the recent article titled "Supporting a Community at Asteri Ithaca" by Cody Gibbens, PE, STAND Structural Engineering Inc., in the STRUCTURE Magazine to learn about using lightweight concrete for the construction of tower floors. "On the south shore of #Cayuga Lake lies the city of #Ithaca, New York. The home of Cornell University, this city faces the best of times—a high quality of living and steady growth. With this growth comes a need for more parking, more meeting spaces, more amenities, more housing, and like many cities across the nation, more affordable housing. With these challenges in mind, BW Architecture & Engineering, LLC partnered with the City of #Ithaca to develop a three-phase project which consisted of adding affordable housing to the area, the construction of a new conference center, and the renovation of the existing Green Street Parking Garage." https://lnkd.in/eWHMJjVr #lightweight #concrete

Adaptive & Decisive CEO | Impact Speaker | Crisis Management | Organizational Change Agent | Governance, Finance, & Operational Acumen | R&D & Product Development Experience| Higher Education Futurist
In the words of Galileo: “I notice that [some] go to the universities in order to become doctors or philosophers or anything, so long as it is a title, and that many go in for those professions who are utterly unfit for them, while others who would be very competent are prevented by business or their daily cares, which keep them away from letters.” In my experience, if you see the world as it was, you are celebrated. If you see the world as it is, you are ignored; but if you see the world as it can be, you are vilified! So, as commencement approaches, I look at the list of graduates for our baccalaureate and masters students and I couldn’t be prouder; as I truly believe that they see the world as it can be; and we do need more environmental science superheroes! We at Unity Environmental University proudly provide opportunity for the latter, and continue to do our best to work with regulators, industry, and accreditors to find more ways to make our curriculum relevant, affordable, and flexible in order to facilitate more access. We will never be these institutions that are proud to announce the number of students we denied, but instead we reflect on why we aren’t able to provide increased access and support within our means to give hopeful students more equitable opportunities to try. I look forward to seeing you at commencement both in person or virtually.
