Well, my journey at ZTLment began in August of 2023, when Stefan Krumbaek approached me to join the team. We worked together at my previous workplace and we’ve always had a wonderful connection, professionally and personally. I started to research the company, and I was amazed by the end goal of disrupting payments and simplifying complex payouts. ⭐ What is your favorite thing about being Head of Business Development? Learning, creating, developing strategies as well as building ICP profiles, defining the next countries to approach, and bringing new ideas to the table. What I really love about it is the room to create and innovate, without having any strings attached. ⭐ Top three highlights of your typical day? External meetings with new clients are on top of everything, the learnings and the business conversations that I get from there are priceless. Sales daily meetings, where me and my co-workers talk about how it has been and how it will be on that day. Expanding into new markets is no easy task. Beyond profitability, there are many aspects you need to understand and adapt to. LATAM is a prime example of a region with a distinct culture that heavily influences how business is done. You can't apply the strategies that work in Europe or the USA to this market because they simply won't work. That's why I'm excited to share the project from my friend Talji Aziz, who, after leading Mixpanel's expansion in this region, saw a significant business opportunity and founded TALTICS. It’s now been a bit over a month since we turned on the turbo boost at Complok (Techstars '23) 🏎️ Our Go-To-Market has gone better than expected. 41 demos, 10+ in-person meetings later, and we’ve signed our first customers. But it's not just the interest in our platform that excites me. It's the shift in mindset I've witnessed across companies in Estonia and the Baltics. 🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹 It’s easy to believe that financial institutions only think about the bottom line. But I was happy to find that this was not at all the case with the companies we talked to. Nowadays, there seems to be a strong drive towards protecting reputation and establishing a strong culture of compliance. Is this shift due to the ripple effects of the Danske Bank scandal? Or perhaps the tightening grip of regulators? Whatever the reason, it's clear: the Baltics are ready for a compliance revolution, and Complok is happy to spearhead the change!
