Manage your pipeline. Be all over it next week. Get to "yes" by July 1st. Be honest with prospects about the consequences each month their decision is delayed. Don't pretend your team can pull off the same quality work in a compressed time frame. We've been talking about New Business in our Academy programs this week. Your Client Service colleagues understand that growth is important. They're more than willing to dig deep and be team players. But they're already playing beat the clock and worry they'll drop the ball for your other clients. Should they favor the new clients over existing obligations? Nobody wants to make that call but you (or your Producer peers) put teams in this position. All. Of. The. Time. As prospects linger, the chance of an unsuccessful implementation increases every week. 📈 Standout from brokers who'll onboard a client anytime even when it doesn't serve the client. I know there's a risk of them saying no (or not now) but there are risks when they give you a late yes too. The below is a fantastic example of two teams, likely with very different assessments, working together poorly. Conative conflict arises when people or teams with vastly different MO's attempt to work together. Sometimes, it turns out like this, but others, when natural talents are embraced, can overcome these types of scenarios for the benefit of working together and achieving success authentically. What would you do if you could be yourself? What could you do if you accepted the natural talents of others? True innovation comes from overcoming differences, leveraging everyone's strengths, and being motivated to do something truly great!

It's so fun seeing people's reactions when I talk about how I love working in insurance. Lot's of puzzled faces and comments along the lines of "is someone paying you to say that??" Recently I was reviewing a few case studies that our lovely marketing director had put together based on work with some of our clients and it got me so! dang! excited !!! Benefits for your employees is a huge expense. HUGE. So why would I be so excited about something most people dread?! We broke down some of the cost saving programs we put in place for a client with 350 employees. Over the course of about two years, it saved this company almost half a million dollars!! HALF A MILLION. It literally made me giddy - not because healthcare costs are rising like crazy, but because when I look at that number I see a lot of opportunity we were able to help create with this client. Nearly half a million dollars that could be used to finally hire those positions the team has been needing or money that could be used to make the burden of premiums less for employees and their families every paycheck. That's what gets me so excited about my job every single day. Nothing gets me more fired up than sharing with employers there might just be a better way to do things.
