Vacuum forming is a thermoforming process that offers benefits such as low manufacturing cost, reduced molding costs, and high efficiency in manufacturing high-quality. From smaller parts like pharmaceutical blister packs to larger auto parts, vacuum forming is used across many industries. However, several intricacies surround the process, necessitating understanding the process before its selection. #vacuumcasting #rapidprototyping When is vacuum forming not the right choice? Though vacuum forming offers many benefits, this process may not be best if the parts you want to produce have very complex designs and features, the intended product is on a large scale, time to get products to market is short. In any of these situations, consider other suitable alternatives. What can go wrong with vacuum forming? Like other manufacturing processes, it is important to take some precautions when forming parts. Defects like warping and uneven wall thickness of the final part can occur. These flaws can affect the part’s functionality. Hence, one should avoid them by adjusting the air pressure and other parameters. Are vacuum casting and vacuum forming the same thing? Though the principle for both may be the same, there is a difference. In vacuum casting, the starting material is a liquid resin while it is a solid plastic sheet in vacuum forming.

Innovative PVD Coating Enhances Quality and Sustainability in Pharmaceutical Company 🦾 Line for assembly of plastic parts at a large Danish pharmaceutical company: • Mass-produced medical disposables are being fitted. • Robots pick up the parts, which are made of hard plastic. • Production takes place in a clean room, with requirements for corrosion- and particle-free conditions. 👉 STANDARD SOLUTION: The gripper sub-supplier manufactures them as standard in inexpensive hardened tool steel and provides them with a hard chrome coating for corrosion protection. 👉 ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION with PVD coating from CemeCon: In dialogue with the customer, a ceramic CrN coating was chosen as an alternative treatment for newly manufactured grippers. ✔️ Advantages of the PVD coating: The CrN coating is vaporized by a vacuum-plasma process, called sputtering or atomization, ensuring great tightness, better corrosion protection, and sealing of the surface. Additionally, the coating is twice as hard as hard chrome, providing excellent wear protection when handling millions of items. ✔️ Environmentally friendly process: The PVD manufacturing process, which uses minimal amounts of pure gases and metals, is very clean and environmentally friendly, unlike the electroplating process. ✔️ Biocompatible coating: CemeCon's hard ceramic coatings can be used in connection with the pharmaceutical and food industry, as they comply with FDA requirements for food and medico (non-toxic, tested according to the ISO 10993-5 standard). #coating #nanotechnology #surfacetreatment

Defoaming Solutions For Adhesive Industry Waterborne adhesives may be supplied as solutions or polymer dispersions/emulsions or formulated as dry powders which must be mixed with water prior to application. The adhesives harden and attain strength when the water is lost from the glue line by evaporation or is absorbed by the substrates. The waterborne adhesive has many types,such as starch/dextrin adhesives,protein/casein adhesives,vinyl acetate adhesives,rubber latex adhesives,polyacrylate emulsions,polyurethane emulsions and dispersions,pressure sensitive adhesive...... The process of adhesive:mixing glue - gluing - drying - bonding - pressurizing - finishing. Adhesives are widely used in various fields,such as electronics, automobile, industry, chemical industry, construction industry and so on. However, in the production of adhesives, a large number of bubbles are produced,that affect the homogeneous mixing and uniform stability of the adhesive components. Main causes of bubbles: 1. High speed stirring in the production process leads to the production of bubbles 2. Contains chemicals that are easy to foam 3. Addition of some kinds of chemical additives 4. Too much surfactant The foaming hazard: 1. Foaming of adhesive affects the production process 2. The bubbles will affect the harmony of products. 3. Too much foam affects the bonding strength. 4.
