The U.S. struggles with many wise choices… even changing laws to switch to permanent standard time, based on abundant evidence of its health & safety benefits. This American Academy of Sleep Medicine position (cited below) is supported by over a dozen medical, scientific and civic organizations, demonstrating broad expert support. Yet many Republicans are supporting a bill for permanent daylight savings time for some (presumed) economic benefits despite the negative health and safety consequences.
