For most my life, I was not seen for my authentic self. I learned many lessons and pivoted my personality throughout my career. I started wearing a mask in order to conform and achieve success. But... It never felt complerely right. It never felt like me. Not until I went back to school during the pandemic and had the honor to be in Professor Robert Allio's class that launched the search for my authentic self. Then came the psychoanalysis and Maslow's hierarchy of needs to understand my values and my goals in life. I started to come out, unlearn lessons that no longer serve me, build a supportive community, and contribute to others as best I can because it makes my heart sing. Last Nov, for the first time in my life, my father told me that he is proud of me after I won a lifetime achievement award. I felt my life was complete at that moment. If I were hit by a car the next day, I would have left this world with no regret. This year, I continue to build strong relationships and contribute to others. The more I contribute to others, the more my inner child is healed, the more authentic I become. Amazingly, more and more people are seeing me for my authentic self and recognizing my potential. Thank you, I'm grateful. 🙏 Digital Insurance 's #WomeninInsuranceLeadership conference last week gave me a platform to share my passion and love for the #insurance industry, #technology, #innovation, and #people. I love this story Peilin Corbanese! I think we relate so well because even though we come from two different parts of the world, our upbringing has so many similarities. I’m glad you are finally seeing what we all see. That YOU are an amazing human being! Your vulnerability allows everyone to see your authentic self. You don’t wear a mask and you don’t seek people for what they can do for you. You just give, and you give from the heart. I treasure you and I feel blessed our paths crossed ❤️
