Happy Monday! 🧡 This week is Road Safety week. A week which is very important to every industry and a topic that should be spoken about. Road Safety Week is a time to educate citizens about the prevention of accidents, injuries and fatalities on the road, whether this be as a driver, pedestrian or cyclist. Emphasizing the importance of safe driving, proper use of crossings and improved road infrastructure. Our academy sits opposite a primary school, meaning it is important for us to make sure people are educated in how to act sensibly on the roads, especially around school areas and times. What can you do to be a safer on the roads? Take your time when completing a journey, even if this means you have to leave 10 minutes earlier! Drivers, refrain from mobile phone use when driving. Invest in apparatus that will make you a more visible pedestrian. Use designated crossings and pathways. These very reasonable adjustments can save lives and help decrease the rates of accidents and fatalities on the road. #safedriving #roadsafetyawareness #roadsafetycampaign #besafe

A month to remember, it had competitions, games, quizzes, photography, finally the flashmob (the current post video). The road safety month enabled the people to unveil their hidden talents for the spreading awareness and importance of each field/domain towards road user safety! Please do follow traffic laws, rules, and regulations in the chosen road segment or stretch at a given time. Do remember, road always talks to you, vehicle drives you to from point A to point B but human (driver/rider here) is the one who controls and have to interact with environment to reach to the destination safely! So, human machine interactions has to happen seamlessly on the road (immediate environmnet) and surroundings environment to have safe journey!

We are encouraging everyone to be advocates for road safety. SAFER September is when we ask all our participants to actively promote road safety to remind all their peers and community to be safe on our roads. SAFER is an acronym and describes what we ask young student leaders across the country to be – student advocates for everyone’s road safety. We ask them to #speakup on the subject of people who are killed or seriously injured on our roads.  We encourage them to start conversations on driver behaviour and to promote positive choices for safer road use within their community.
