Setting up our booth alongside my good friend Jamey was always a highlight. Those were the days filled with laughter, camaraderie, and endless possibilities. Fast forward to today, and our journey has been nothing short of remarkable. As the owner of an IT Services company catering to small businesses in Jacksonville, Orlando, and Columbia SC, reflecting on our humble beginnings is both nostalgic and empowering. Back then, we were just a few passionate individuals with a vision. Now, we're a dedicated team serving owners, presidents, and CEOs of small businesses with 25 to 100 employees. Our mission? To provide top-notch managed services that empower businesses to thrive in the digital age. But let's be honest, the road hasn't always been smooth. One recurring challenge? Convincing clients of the importance of our services, especially when cost comes into play. It's a familiar struggle for many in the IT industry. I am thrilled to see some organizations still value celebrating their employees meaningfully and genuinely and, more importantly, share the celebrations and accomplishments for all of us to see. Check on the inclusive celebrations and recognition Valley Health System posted during their recent Go LIVE of their new hospital. They departed from the obligatory ribbon-cutting photo op with a few leaders. Instead, they actively rounded throughout their move, capturing all their teams working together on their highly successful move and sharing the journey for all to see. 🏆 Break from the sterile monotony of online meetings and celebrate and socialize with your team and those you serve. "That is not in the budget" is an unacceptable excuse. As a Servant Leader, you are responsible for being a cheerleader and strong advocate for your team. What is one thing that you geek out about?  It's sad, but I really don't geek out about much. Maybe the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks. I love my Chicago teams, but geeking out is probably a stretch.   What is one way that you unwind?  Either by getting my sweat on (exercising, even though it doesn't show) or fixing something. I'm not super handy, but I enjoy giving it a try and feel really good when it actually works after I tried.   Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?  Perm's for guys - nevermind, I wouldn't be able to get one anyway.    What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee?  Howard Stern - please don't judge. I think he does an amazing job interviewing people and is not afraid to ask questions others shy away from.   What is one of your favorite books?   I really don't read fiction but I do enjoy a good business book. One of my favorites is Oren Harari, Break from the Pack. It's about how to compete in a copy cat society and Malcolm Gladwell's, Outliers and What the Dog Saw - lots of short, facsinating stories. Favorite quote?   "A man with one watch knows the time. A man with two is never sure."
