During my recent visit to Japan, I had the privilege of sitting down with Dr. Kazunari Asanuma, Director of the Health Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW). Our conversation centered around our shared belief that true, meaningful change can only happen when we come together as one, working side by side toward a common goal. For us, that common goal is ensuring people living with schizophrenia are able to lead fulfilling lives in their local communities. By strengthening public-private partnerships, sharing best practices, and creating more supportive social environments, we know we can start moving the needle toward creating meaningful change for patients. Thank you, Dr. Asanuma, for an engaging and insightful conversation. #mentalhealth #mycompany

Today marks the 16th year since the apology to the Stolen Generations on behalf of the Australian Government. The health impacts on those forcefully removed as children, their parents and their communities has been significant and far reaching. The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has reported that the 17,150 survivors of the Stolen Generations have ongoing health and wellbeing needs resulting from their experiences, and that we must consider these needs within the context of aged care. Understanding, acknowledging and addressing the ongoing trauma of Colonisation is central to ensuring equitable, just systems that consider the health needs of all Australians.

Prevention is better than cure. I’m not suggesting forcing fragile people back into work is a cure but prevention is absolutely necessary to minimise the risk of long term sickness. Occupational supervision is not a luxury but a necessity for the psychological, emotional and physical wellbeing of our society. Senior Public Policy / Economic Development Professional - brings insights into policy development process, with excellent track record of multi-agency working, social value design, implementation & evaluation.
https://lnkd.in/ehFU2K4R According to the Government right now, around 2 million people of working age are not working at all. That is a national scandal and an enormous waste of human potential. So, we must do more to support those who can work to do so. What about actually implementing social care reforms???? This may free up some if UK 1.8m carers to return to work. Extra support to help disabled people into work should not come with such stringent conditions.
Disabled people must work from home to do ‘their duty’, says UK minister — The Guardian
