Boom Supersonic is still years from having its Overture jet enter commercial service. Yes, there are numerous hurdles that still must be cleared before we see three and half hour flights between New York and London, but this order by American shows airlines increasingly want to have the option to make supersonic flights in the future.
I remain skeptical on timeframe, but very cool none the less!
Consolidating a first class and business class experience on these planes while turning the normal jets into a fully coach layout is a logical business plan when/if these planes are approved and operational.
These planes do not actually exist. So decades at best.
I follow Boom closely as a good friend that I grew up with is their CMO. I just want to say how interesting it is to read about Supersonic Air Travel...I mean c'mon, it's just cool! And also very exciting to see what is on the horizon with regards to the travel business in general. I see you Boom!
