Why do businesses frequently reject to recruit novice or moderately experienced individuals for tasks that a 13-year-old can learn??? Because of office cliques, attitudes, and politics. The majority of jobs are not so specialized that they cannot be taught. Companies only need to be WILLING. Unfortunately, many firms REFUSE to hire inexperienced people for reasons such as tradition, making unjust assumptions, avarice, malice, laziness, and so on. Oftentimes it is advantageous to hire new blood.

Recognizing the distinction between job and family is vital for professional health. It's important to establish boundaries to maintain work-life balance and to continually assess personal and career goals, ensuring they align with one's values and aspirations. Loyalty to a job should not come at the expense of family. Embracing this mindset empowers individuals to make decisions that best serve their family interest.

True - One of the most difficult lessons in life I am learning is that 'toxic' or 'discriminatory' workplaces (regardless of policies) - you'd think organizations would actually want to address toxicity, or SAD Management, and SAD HR, and SAD Unions - but they do not. It is very discouraging to bring honorable challenges to dishonorable things to be met with a recurring refusal to even honor actual written policies with systemic violations by those in positions of power and authority. I call it selective enforcement and policy 'theater', harassment, and bullying practices by proxy of policies and processes and wild interpretations. And biased application of. Reporting to EEOC and BOLI is difficult, time-consuming, and almost mind-numbing, with little actual timely action. The same is true for OSHA. I think I've documented a State Agency providing false information to a Federal Oversight Agency, and that Federal Agency doesn't seem to care. That is what concerns me. If we cannot 'care' about things we've already put in writing that we are supposed to 'care about', we all see disturbing issues every day, and yet we seem unable to address real issues we've already said 'no' to; yet, there is no actual will or commitment to creating better outcomes. It is all unnecessary, and it doesn't help us make a better world. This is part of what inspires me to write about it in a SAD series to transmute the negatives observed and experienced to be of service to help our working world become a better place. Most conflicts are unnecessary if reasonable people are willing to have conversations leading to progressive and positive outcomes. Leaving a Toxic Workplace is something everyone should do, but nobody should have to 'leave' anything. We should all be willing to listen and transform our workplaces into healthy and positive work places. Just 'saying it' in a policy without actually 'caring' to make it real is truly offensive and toxic. It is a form of gaslighting by proxy of policy and processes - legal theater in policy, without any actual intention to address the issues the polices are written to stop and prevent.
