A recent retrospective study delved into treatment patterns and outcomes for patients with advanced endometrial cancer, shedding light on the varying use of mismatch repair (MMR) and microsatellite instability (MSI) testing in treatment decisions. Notably, patients with MMR-deficient (dMMR) tumors experienced longer treatment-free periods compared to those with MMR-proficient (pMMR) tumors. Despite this, the utilization of newer, targeted therapies based on MMR/MSI status remains suboptimal, indicating a crucial need for enhanced education and access to these treatments, particularly among underrepresented populations.
