Wow. It has been a long time since I posted anything, not because nothing has been happening...rather because of too much going on. Our clients these days are motivated and undertaking whole floor makeovers - starting with the front entrance. Have a look at how much a door wrap transferred this hospital's ALC unit's (often a long term home for patients with chronic conditions) entrance into a warmer invitation to enter. This is just the start of many changes within. The reverse side of the door is an "exit diversion" designed to reduce a patient/resident's desire to exit. All credit to our client for her wonderful vision of her patient's living space. But they do know--and that's why they're not doing it.” Their materials are available to all via open-source licensing and backed by evidence-based market research providing clear, concise implementation strategies for improving how we talk about serious illness.
