Phoebe Nursing Leaders, Haley Kimbrell and Kelsey Reed, honored Albany Technical College licensed practical nursing students in front of their peers today. Deja Bryant, Keiyanna Harris, and Tynisha McCray were training on one of our acute care floors recently when the medical emergency team had to rush to the bedside of a patient to provide urgent care. The students demonstrated exceptional compassion and superior service to the patient’s spouse. Without being asked to do so, they stepped in and provided empathetic support, embodying the true essence of nursing. We are proud of their actions and of our partnership with ATC to train the healthcare professionals of tomorrow. Thank you, Deja, Keiyanna, and Tynisha, for a making a difference and showing us that the future of nursing is in great hands.

💯 Your health and your family's health will be improved thanks to this kind of collaboration. This partnership advances competence-based education for nurses. We know that outcomes-focused, active learning strategies are more effective in mastering new knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The University of Minnesota School of Nursing has nine such partnerships to date, called "collaboratories." 💪 One key attribute among many for this model: faculty and practice partners co-create the lessons to ensure new nurse graduates are better prepared, better equipped and more resilient when entering the workforce.
The University of Minnesota School of Nursing formed a Collaboratory with Allina Health to improve nursing practices, education and patient outcomes. This collaboratory engages nursing faculty, nursing staff and nursing students as they work together in crafting strategies that will further innovate this field. Thank you, Dominica Tallarico,B.S., M.S.,FACHE and Hsieng Su, for representing Allina Health.
