Robert Oubre, MD (The Doctor of Documentation), and that goes for clicks to answer repetitive CDI queries day in and day out for diagnoses. Educate physicians on better practices of documentation versus nagging them with queries, stop queryating. Have you seen the product Solventum offers called "Nudge." I would not be a happy camper if Nudge was used at my facility as a physician with pop-up boxes "nudging" me to add a diagnosis. Physicians have enough annoying alerts that interrupt their flow of charting in the EHR. Reminds me of my my parents nudging me to clean up my room when growing up as a child. The majority of physicians want to document correctly the first time around as opposed to being nudged or queried. Time to revisit current processes of CDI. Focusing upon education must be the first priority of CDI to help physicians achieve true sustainable clinical documentation excellence.
