The earlier, the deeper, the longer, the better. Time to move on to act early and intensely in post ACS. Inertia remains a major issue. #LLT

New #TMS study: Different Effect Sizes of Motor Skill Training Combined with Repetitive Transcranial versus Trans-Spinal Magnetic Stimulation in Healthy Subjects. "Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is used to enhance motor training (MT) performance. The use of rTMS is limited under certain conditions, such as after a stroke with severe damage to the corticospinal tract. This raises the question as to whether repetitive trans-spinal magnetic stimulation (rSMS) can also be used to improve MT." "This study suggests that rSMS has the potential to improve the performance of MT. Further research is now needed to determine whether certain groups of patients (who cannot be treated effectively with rTMS) would benefit from the addition of rSMS." #stroke MDPI click here to read study: https://lnkd.in/gvGXfF7d https://lnkd.in/gzSKKCGq

One of the studies currently underway at the Center by principal investigator Dr. Svetlana Pundik, MD, MSc, is assessing how spinal cord stimulation for the treatment of chronic pain in Veterans impacts brain structure and function. The research team is using a non-invasive neuroimaging technique called resting state Near Infrared Spectroscopy and Electroencephalography (rs-fNIRS/EEG) to better understand brain changes related to pain relief from spinal cord stimulation. These and future study results might help clinicians refine patient selection for spinal cord stimulation for improved patient outcomes. Senior Cardiac Physiologist CEPS, CCDS, CEPIA & Co-founder Cardiac Physiology in Practice @Cardiacphys_
This week is for the EP Peeps! A short review on His-Synchronous RV Pacing, or "Zipes". We discuss interpreting it beyond simply "Does the AA interval advance"? For example: - Did you know that it can offer insight into whether an accessory pathway is a bystander or participant in SVT? - Did you know this maneuver is not useful in excluding AVRT as a diagnosis? If your answer was yes to those questions, then this post is nothing more than a revision for you. However, if your answer was anything along the lines of "no" then I'm confident you will find something useful inside :) Thanks for tuning in Cheers Mitch #epeeps #ecg #ekg #arrhythmia #ablation #cardioed
