Connecting donors and community leaders around the world for lasting change

From the minute I took this leadership role at GlobalGiving, I immediately began to think, “Who will be able to give me advice and support? Where's my kitchen cabinet?" I will use future posts to thank the MANY mentors and advisors I've tapped during this first year. It truly takes a village. One of the best things about a 30-year career is how many folks I’ve had the honor and privilege of working alongside and meeting along the way. The generosity of my village astounds me and my virtual kitchen is hopping! Today, I'm thrilled to announce a more structured manifestation of some of that generosity: the brand new GlobalGiving Technology Innovation Advisory Council (TIAC). As we embark upon a massive modernization project to build our Next Generation of Generosity, an amazing group of experts have come together to help guide us--Jama Adams of Responsible Innovation Labs, Oktay Dogramaci, formerly of PayPal Giving, Hemal Doshi of Cash App, Sri G Gopalakrishnan of KindKart, Jeff Jones of Walmart International, @clam lorenz of Amazon, Dr. Wilneida Negrón of The Future of Workers Initiative, Cynthia O'Yang of PayPal, Evan Paul of Salesforce, Benjamin Pierson of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Piyush Tantia of ideas42, Manju Thomas of Stitch Fix, Michael Todasco of San Diego State University, and Katherine Woo formerly of Airbnb will join us on our journey to harness the power of technology to keep making the world a better place—and I couldn’t be more excited and grateful for their service. Special thanks to my long-time colleague and friend Oktay Dogramaci, with whom I first had the pleasure of working when I was at Gates, when we were cooking up experiments and innovations to better celebrate and support the everyday donor. Oktay helped me design and recruit this fabulous group and will Co-Chair the Council with me going forward. We could not have done this without him. GlobalGiving is committed to building the digital tools necessary to support the next generation of generosity, and the guidance of this council will be crucial to meet the moment before us. AI, quantum computing, virtual reality… those are just a few of the seismic tech innovations that are shaping the future, and the nonprofit sector can’t be left behind. We're so lucky to have you, Piyush Tantia! I can't wait to consider every donor behavioral insight you and ideas42 have learned (thinking of you and the team Sarah Welch!) as we build the Next Gen of Generosity for GlobalGiving!
