Why do I switch off the lights in my office? It's not about being Kanjoos. As summer season started, We have seen water crisis in Bangalore. It's crucial to realize that our electricity consumption directly impacts water usage. Did you know that it takes approximately 2.5 liters of water to generate just one unit (or 1 kWh) of electricity in a typical thermal power plant? And this doesn't even include the additional of transporting electricity from Point A to B. Every time we flip a switch, we're indirectly contributing to the strain on our water resources. Therefore, conserving electricity isn't just about saving energy, it's also about conserving water. Can't doable: 1. We can't control the increasing usage per capita as the population grows. 2. We can't control where the need for electricity arises. 3. We can't completely control the industrial demand for electricity, which often requires significant amounts of energy for manufacturing processes. 4. We can't entirely eliminate the need for essential services that rely on electricity, such as hospitals, emergency services, and essential infrastructure. Can doable: 1. Switch off electricity where it's not needed at all. 2. Many corporates keep the AC on in conference rooms even when there are no meetings scheduled. 3. Hesitation issues - it might seem awkward if someone walks into our office and the lights are off. 4. Share this post, so it can educate more and more people. 5. whenever needed, Take charge to switch off the light. Don't feel ashamed, log kya kahenge. Some may argue that water is necessary to rotate turbines and generate electricity. While this is true, we must also consider the need for water stock in the first place. Metropolitan cities like Bangalore are already facing water crises. Changing this mindset is crucial. Let's pledge to be mindful of our electricity usage, not only for the sake of our energy resources but also for the precious water that sustains life. #Environment #WaterConservation #EnergyEfficiency #BangaloreWaterCrisis #MindsetChange #watercrisis #bangalorewatercrisis #primeqa
