The Auction Advisory Committee, led by Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, made significant progress in today's meeting. Here's what went down: Green light for spectrum allocation: The committee instructed the Frequency Allocation Board (FAB) to identify all available #spectrum (both new and existing) for the upcoming #5Gauction. This includes spectrum newly freed up by a court decision and some vacated by other authorities. Expert guidance sought: Recognizing the complexity of the auction process, the committee agreed to hire an international consultant. This expert will engage with stakeholders, prepare a comprehensive report, and advise the government on successful auction execution. Clear roadmap needed: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) presented details about the 5G spectrum itself, the auction timeline, and expected revenue. This lays the groundwork for a detailed roadmap for the entire process. Transparency and accuracy emphasized: The committee stressed the importance of a thorough assessment of available spectrum by FAB. Only after this assessment and FAB's approval will the final spectrum and frequency bands for the auction be confirmed and communicated to the PTA. While an international consultant will take a few months to complete their work, the FAB's prompt identification of available spectrum will be crucial for moving forward efficiently. If you buy power in #PJM, your bill is going to go up starting next June. The 2025/26 Capacity Auction results are in, and the price of capacity for that term will be the highest on record at nearly $270 per MW-Day, or nearly 10x the price for the 2024/25 planning year. Mark your calendars: On Friday Nov 1, 2024 (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM EDT), the Commission will hold a Commissioner-led technical conference to discuss generic issues related to the co-location of large loads at generating facilities.  "Broadly, issues to be explored at the technical conference may include whether co-located loads require the provision of wholesale transmission or ancillary services, related cost allocation issues, and potential resource adequacy, reliability, affordability, market, and customer impacts."

📈 Monthly Highlights April 2024: With spring starting to bloom in its full colors 🌸 🐝 🌱, EXAA’s volumes are blossoming! Our Average Daily Volumes in our 10:15 Auction are shining in particular, with monthly increases in both the Austrian (+16%) and German (+17%) area. In total, these volumes have risen by 17% on average compared to last month. When we compare our 10:15 data to 2023, even higher increases become visible. April 2024 is showing a jump of +27% in Austria of Average Daily Volumes in contrast to April 2023. The same goes for Germany with +13% in that auction.
