🚀 The Software Engineer's Journey: Embrace the Huddle! 🚀 Hey amazing engineers! 🌟 Let's be real - the road to landing that dream software engineering job can be tough, filled with countless hours of coding, endless interviews, and sometimes, what feels like insurmountable challenges. The "huddle" moments, where you're pushing through the hard times, are not just obstacles, but crucial learning phases that shape us into resilient professionals. 🔥 Why the Huddle Matters: In every huddle, you're not just facing a challenge; you're gaining invaluable experience, sharpening your skills, and building a mindset that sets you apart. It's in these moments that your determination, passion, and grit shine the brightest. 💡 Remember: Every successful engineer you admire has been through their own huddles. They didn’t reach the pinnacle of their career without facing rejections, setbacks, or doubts. But what they did differently was to keep going, to learn, adapt, and grow stronger with every challenge. 🌱 Embrace the Growth Mindset: Instead of seeing huddles as roadblocks, view them as stepping stones. Each one is an opportunity to refine your craft, expand your knowledge, and ultimately, get one step closer to your dream job. 🚀 Keep Pushing Forward: The software engineering world is vast and ever-evolving. Your unique skills, ideas, and passion have a place in it. Don’t let rejections or setbacks deter you. Keep refining your skills, networking, and seizing every opportunity that comes your way. 👊 You've Got This! Believe in yourself, trust the process, and remember that every huddle you face is bringing you closer to your goals. Your dedication and hard work will pay off, and when it does, it'll be all the sweeter because of the journey you've taken to get there. So, to all the incredible software engineers out there, keep huddling, keep learning, and keep pushing forward! Your dream job is waiting, and you're more than capable of achieving it. #SoftwareEngineer #KeepGoing #Motivation #CareerJourney

Mission.dev can help with that mission 😉 Investing in leveling up the engineers in our network is what separates Mission from other marketplaces and recruiters. Having led product and engineering with my partner in crime (CTO) at Bus.com I totally get that it is hard for companies without economies of scale (of 100-1000’s of engineers) to invest heavily in engineering specific career development. Partnering with Mission gives companies access to technical talent to execute on their mission while we help provide the supportive engineering environment (community of peers, learning events, and technology) that top talent is looking for 🚀
Vice President of Operations and Strategic Partnerships | Entrepreneurial-minded Executive | Strategic Thinker | Expert in business scalability and exponential growth
I'm seeing a trend: the best software engineers aren't just looking for a job; they're seeking a mission. In today's competitive tech landscape, companies need to offer more than just a paycheck and benefits. The top talents are searching for roles where they can contribute to something meaningful—projects that challenge them, cultures that support their growth, and missions that align with their values. So, how can your company stand out? Showcase your vision, impact, and the pathways for personal and professional development you provide. Remember, in the quest for the best talent, it's not just about what they can do for you but what you can do for them. #TechTalent #SoftwareEngineering #CompanyCulture

Yesterday I found a great software engineer for one of my clients in Aberdeen. They had the right experience level. They had exactly the right tech stack. They had the right motivation to want to make a move. They had industry experience. They were in budget. They were keen on the company. I'm not going to submit them. Their career motivations don't align. The candidate is ideally looking to join an established team with more efficient process and my client are a startup with 1 other engineer currently (although I dont think that will be for long)... Even with growth over the next 12 months its not going to be at the scale they are looking for so it feels off for me. I dont like risk in recruitment - especially when i'm in charge of building someones tech teams for them - at this stage we cant take chances on staff turnover or lack of motivation etc - the fit has to be precise when it comes to the motivations, career paths etc... I'll find a better fit for the developer and i'll find a better fit for the employer - they just dont fit well enough in my head. Am I being too picky? Maybe... But would you want me to take the chance if it was your career I had in my hands?

MVC Resources ⏪ Ex Software Engineer turned Recruiter | Technology Recruitment Partner | Start up I Scale up I Unicorn
So many software engineers make this mistake and find out too late… They don’t understand themselves 🤔 With so many opportunities it is easy to chase money & trends - but does this leave to happiness or burn out? So ask yourself, do you like? 🔸To build prototypes and move on to the next thing? 🔸Or prefer working on products, adding new features? 🔸Fast paced, hands on, start up life? 🔸Or prefer large scale strategic & integrations with MNCs? The best engineers l know understood their own goals and strengths…And target companies (first) roles (second) that align There is no point being half way up a ladder if you don’t want to climb #softwareengineering #careeradvice #selfawareness "Feel free to connect with me to know more about such opportunities"

I wanted to write and #share news for those of you who may not know— I've recently completed General Assembly's #SoftwareEngineering Immersive program, a fantastic experience that offered over 420 hours of formal education. But here's the real reason for my message: with my new training, I am embarking on a major career shift into the world of technology. Why? Because I want to carve out more time for my family. They mean the world to me, and I'm determined to find a career that allows me to be there for them. What took so long for me to get here? A renewed sense of understanding that working hard doesn’t mean my hands need to be calloused, and my work pants full of grime and sawdust. I’ve lived in that world for much of my life because that is what I saw in my family and grandparents, and I have finally had the epiphany of how wrong that mindset is and I am finally having the courage to make this shift. Right now, I'm on the lookout for a full-time position as a Junior Software Engineer in #greaterboston, #rhodeisland, #newhampshire or #connecticut. I am open to #fulltime or #contractjobs, and would be happy #onsite, #hybridwork, or any #remoteopportunity (remote / hybrid as the preference). I bring a wealth of experience from my time as a Project Manager in addition to the knowledge I’ve gathered through schooling and certificate training. I'm incredibly eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a company that values diversity and unique perspectives. So, if you know of any companies—big or small, established or startup—that could benefit from someone like me, please reach out! I'm genuinely excited about the possibility of joining your team and making a meaningful impact. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to read this. Please if you don't mind sharing my story with your connections, it would greatly help me. I truly appreciate it! All the best, Ben p.s. picture of me and my little bff and source of inspiration for this #change in my life. #JuniorDeveloper #softwareengineer #techcommunity #techjobs #softwaredevelopment #entryleveltech #techcareers #hiringdevelopers #careershift #freshstart #newcareer #lifechange
