When we joined Sustainable Brands and sustainability expert Lindsay Dahl from Ritual, we pulled back the curtain on the impact of climate data management. One of Lindsay’s top tips? Build strong relationships with your suppliers. These relationships are critical to getting the data that can actually drive action. Because good data leads to better information and more informed decision-making as a team. It can give your internal teams a shared understanding and grounding that leads to minimizing your impact. Lindsay’s seen the impacts firsthand - from uncovering where emissions reduction levers exist to evaluating an ingredient swap. Having strong supplier relationships has been the key to driving action. Detailed data points for product-level LCAs have opened up conversations internally, whether about the opportunities to reduce emissions in their shipper boxes or for key sourcing decisions around conventional or regenerative organic ingredients.
