As I navigate the landscape of service, I find echoes of Mahatma Gandhi's wisdom: "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." In the realm of volunteering, time is transcended by passion, and the self is discovered in the act of giving. Each moment dedicated to a cause becomes a journey inward, unraveling layers of empathy and understanding. It's not just service; it's a profound self-discovery, a realization that our hearts resonate with the heartbeat of humanity. Through volunteering, I weave my narrative into the collective story of compassion, finding not only the richness of service but also the richness of my own being. Happy International Volunteers Day.

In my experience, volunteering is an art of deep passion demonstrated by dedication and active participation in and support of causes that stimulate and aim to bring about favorable changes and impact. Therefore, volunteer management must include careful and strategic identification, assessment, empowerment, guidance, and mentoring of volunteers. The concept of who for what, time and effectiveness, proactiveness and accountability, and recognition and reward system are vital pillars to be appropriately considered and managed.

🏡 Building vibrant neighborhoods starts with fostering a strong sense of community!
