People make investing way more complicated than it needs to be, often causing many not to invest due to fear of a "lack of knowledge" and analysis paralysis. My simple advice: start where you are with what you know. 💡 Look into companies that provide everyday essentials. 💡Reference current events and the companies primarily used to solve today's problems. 💡 Consider which companies are futuristic and are helping to build our future. Research shows that many times investors will use pattern matching, (i.e replying on their past experiences and/or patterns they see), to analyze a business and make decisions about a potential investment. AKA they are leveraging their personal experiences to make an interpretation about your industry or business, and potentially you as a founder. Use this knowledge to your advantage when you pitch an investor - do your research beforehand and study their past investments to strategically think how to best influence their thinking. #investortips #pitching101

You just closed your first investment round? Congratulations! After about two months, your new best friends/investors will ask you about company updates and the progress you are making. This feels like a distraction from what you love to do, like improving your offering and going out and talking to customers. You think you throw a couple of numbers in a PowerPoint and send it out. Here is where the frustration starts: What to report? Where to get the information? Why is this costing so much time? Why don't I hear anything back from my investors? What should I do with the feedback I get from investors? The process starts to feel like a burden. Don't worry. You are not alone. I have helped many starting and scaling companies with their operational, tactical and strategic financial and investor-related challenges. If you treat reporting as a tick-the-box exercise, it is and will remain a burden. In my experience, companies that treat periodic reporting as a moment to shine, position themselves much better for future success. The report itself is not the main goal; the process is.
