Rooted in the principles of hope, second chances and transformative impact, OutsideConnection is an innovative online job platform dedicated to providing employment opportunities for individuals returning from prison. Sebastian’s journey began in his aunt’s bakery in Pittsburgh, where he witnessed the power of a diverse workforce. This experience ignited his commitment to social justice, driving him to help over 10,000 reentrants secure meaningful employment across 34 cities and 17 states, through 40+ second-chance employers. Last week, Points of Light hosted a Strategic Innovation Session in Washington, D.C., informed by hundreds of stakeholders, and bringing together thought leaders and a cross-departmental team of Points of Light board members and staff. Together, we explored the future of volunteering and identified breakthrough opportunities to increase volunteering around the globe. Big things happen when dedicated volunteers come together! Last week 150 CarMax employees spent the day at a Milwaukee public school, transforming classrooms, the staff lounge and even the garden bed. They tackled it all with energy and passion!
