New sustainability reporting standards are coming for Australian companies in 2025 and Pollination CEO Martijn Wilder AM sat down with Bloomberg's Ishika Mookerjee to talk about what they'll mean for Australian corporates and for the region more generally. “Disclosure is very important because it forces people to think about and consider what their climate risk exposure is and what are the areas of weakness they have,” he said. Pollination's strong view is that the companies who thrive in this new regulatory environment will be those who treat new reporting standards as a strategic guidance framework and not just a compliance checklist. Talk with our world-leading Climate and Sustainability Risk Governance Team, led by Sarah Barker, to find out more about how you can get prepared and grasp the opportunities on offer in this shift. The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) obligates all large and listed companies to share information on how they monitor a wide range of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues and their impact on our planet. Companies need to report on a variety of #ESG metrics, giving customers and investors an all-access view of their sustainability agenda. The #CSRD is another catalyst for change within dairy operations and should be seen as a driver for digitalisation. ESG and the CSRD have to be a priority, are you ready? See what's new on Instagram: ESG has become a topic of utmost importance and relevance in our rapidly evolving global landscape. As many organisations move towards becoming ESG compliant, it is important to set standards and regulatory frameworks that will address the issue of Green Washing. This will go a long way in ensuring that organizations enjoy full benefits for the efforts that they put forward and ultimately drive the transition from Green Washing to Green Valuation. Standardization and regulations will boost confidence in investors as they will be empowered to make better investment decisions. This is also the best way to protect vested capital and secure new capital. Im looking forward to speaking as a panelist alongside other subject matter experts as we hope to shed more light on the three components of ESG.

Here’s a quick overview: - SFDR: Mandates sustainability reporting for EU investment managers, enhancing transparency on ESG risk integration. - CSRD: Expands sustainability reporting for EU and non-EU companies, improving information consistency and comparability. - CSDDD: Requires companies to manage adverse sustainability impacts within their operations and value chains. - CBAM: Imposes a carbon price on certain imports to prevent carbon leakage and promote cleaner production. - EU Taxonomy: Classifies environmentally sustainable economic activities, steering investments towards greener projects. - ‘Fit for 55’ Package: Aims to cut EU GHG emissions by at least 55% by 2030 through various legislative measures. These regulations are more than just policies—they're essential steps towards a sustainable future. What is Sustainability? “Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” - 1987 < Our Common Future > Some people said, it is waste time and waste money for sustainable development, and I have no idea about sustainability as it is not my main job! “No ESG, No Business” is not the slogan only, it will come true. As there are a lot of International Standards/Initiatives released, such as Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI), SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standard Board), SBT (Science Based Target), TCFD (Climate Changed), TNFD (Biodiversity)…etc, which are including Environment, Society, Governance. - if a company want to gain more business, they need to follow international standards/initiatives and country’s policy. I believe that no one can ignore this topic, and everyone must to focus this topic. #sustainability
