The Kentucky Derby was won by Mystik Dan (16-1 odds) in a thrilling photo finish (video >> https://lnkd.in/d6JSg5hU). 🏇 He wasn't even close to having one of the top 5 betting odds. Nice lesson that there are no safe bets and good diversification is almost always a good idea. 😅 The winning time was 2:03.34. It is interesting that the winning times have ranged between 2:00 and 2:05 over the last 75 years. Progress have stalled. Interestingly, if one looks at the fastest 100m sprint times, progress is still alive and well. Obviously you get outliers like Usain Bolt, but in general times are still improving. It is probably thanks to footwear technology progress, rather than genetics/training/diet, otherwise you would have seen the same with horses. Nice lesson that society is always looking to improve, so no business can become complacent. #investing
