🚢 Vincent Guerre, SEA Europe's Director for Trade & Competitiveness, animated today an online webinar on European structural funds for stakeholders from the maritime technology industry. 🇪🇺 🔎 He presented the scope and functioning of these funds and gave practical advice on how to access them. 💡Concretely, more than 500 billion euros of investment is channelled though these funds to support competitiveness, innovation and skills in European regions. There are many opportunities for shipyards and maritime equipment manufacturers! ⚓️💶

🛳 Attending the MCN Members' Meeting in Bremen was an insightful experience! 🌟 I had the opportunity to gain exciting insights into the Maritimes Cluster Norddeutschland (MCN) activities and current challenges. My key takeaways from the event include: 1️⃣ MCN is part of the ResC4EU initiative, aiming to create resilient international supply chains in Europe and strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises in the maritime industry. 2️⃣ Ship efficiency and fuels are among the industry's biggest challenges, and MCN is developing guidelines to support decision-makers. 3️⃣ Recruitment of talents is essential for the industry, and MCN serves as a platform for exchanging with recruitment experts to effectively target young talents. 4️⃣ As part of their current strategy, MCN consolidates and enhances its efforts to offer members valuable exchange and guidance on technological and digital transformation. Additionally, it was great and inspiring to see the passion and commitment of the MCN team in bringing the maritime industry together. Engaging with fellow members allowed me to discuss these challenges and explore possibilities for further cooperation. At the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator briefing. It's a very Defence driven, top-down process, with many Defence stakeholders to develop problem statements and areas of interest. Industry led initiatives are to be demonstrated in a twice yearly pitch event, presumably on public show. There is no opportunity for industry to present a well formed opportunity to ASCA. In my view, an enormous failing to not actively seek and assess industry ideas.
