Thrilled to share the grand opening of Seattle Aquarium's Ocean Pavilion! This project, honoring Coast Salish stewardship, will greatly benefit local marine life and inspire ocean conservation. Exciting times for Seattle's waterfront!
We’re excited to announce the grand opening of the Seattle Aquarium's Ocean Pavilion project! In 2020, project construction was initiated to connect downtown Seattle to the shoreline while simultaneously expanding conservation and education programs at the Seattle Aquarium. Now, the completed Ocean Pavilion will showcase tropical Pacific Ocean species, expanding aquarium’s focus from local Puget Sound wildlife to additional species like sharks and manta rays. Additionally, the Seattle Aquarium honors the Coast Salish people’s stewardship of the Pacific Northwest by collaborating with Indigenous leaders and consultants on the project and integrating their perspectives into the Ocean Pavilion’s design. “The best part of working on the Environmental Impact Statement for the Ocean Pavilion was working with a client that is dedicated to ocean conservation and educating the public about all of the wonderful animals that use these waters,” said Josh Jensen an Anchor QEA environmental planner. Today, we celebrate this transformative project with our clients and partners. Congratulations, team!
