Every high performing person I've ever met has been brave enough to say "I don't know but let me find out". No one knows everything. What sets successful people apart in finding success through ambiguity are these three things: 1) Knowing what you don't know 2) Taking the action needed to get the RIGHT answer (solution, contact, product, or service) 3) Being "helpable" along the way We've all worked with or encountered the person who doesn't know what they don't know. Isn't aware of their blind spot. We know that fact will stunt their growth until they address it. We've all seen people (and sometimes, let's admit it, have BEEN the person) who knew EXACTLY what needed to be done...but didn't do it. And then got exactly the results a lack of action deserves. And I can admit that accepting help can still - even to this day - sometimes make me feel weak or "less than". But I know accepting help or support from those who hold the knowledge, solution, experience...well, it's the difference between "getting by" and exponential growth. In all things. I might not know everything. 🚲 The first month of business, my GRANDMA had to stop by every day and force me to go for a bike ride with her. I was glued behind my laptop 10+ hours per day and remember breaking down crying in front of her when she asked me: Didn't you just quit your unfulfilling job and that toxic work environment that burned you out? Why are you forcing yourself into the mold you chose to break? She was right. Newbie entrepreneurs ALL make this mistake in the first 3 months of business: ❌ Copy pasting your corporate way of working into your business. I found my way of doing business: no-call Mondays, 8 am - 3 pm workdays, and weekend starts at 1 pm on Fridays. Last week I helped Sorcha Hanway do the same for the powerhouse of a business she is building. She came into our session telling me "I have to push on the paddle. I have to work harder." And she left with crystal clarity about how much work is enough + a sense of calm that since has upleveled her love life, family relationships, and productivity. She feels present in her life again. Growing up, I always had big dreams. But I learned that to turn those dreams into reality, I had to act even bigger. Years ago, I had a significant dream: to start my own business and help people pursue their dreams without overthinking. It wasn't an easy journey. I had a stable job, but deep down, I knew I was meant for something more. Here’s how I made it happen: Set Clear Goals: I defined what success looked like for me. My goals were not just about financial success, but also about making a positive impact on people's lives. Take the First Step: Being the 1% that does something different i the friend group was one of the toughest things ever. But I knew that to achieve my dream, I had to take that leap of faith. Use My Strengths: My ability to lift people's spirits and persuade them has always been my superpower. I used these skills to build relationships and motivate others to join me on this journey. Stay Motivated: There were times when I felt overwhelmed and unsure. But I kept my motivation high by remembering my passion for helping people and the future I wanted to create for my family. I've lost count of the times I failed, from botched pitches to missed opportunities. ↳ Here's a slice of reality: Every setback is a SETUP for a comeback. Embrace the losses. But here's the kicker: Each loss teaches you something invaluable. ↳ And this is vital: Embracing failure paves the way to SUCCESS. Feel like job titles and secure paychecks are the only way to succeed? You’re wrong. There’s this belief that having a ‘secure’ job with a fancy title is the pinnacle of success. But here’s the truth: True courage lies in stepping out of that comfort zone and venturing into the unknown of entrepreneurship and many more adventurous steps a human being can venture into. You’re more resilient if: * You leap the fear. * You trust your vision over conventional stability. * You build something from scratch rather than just fitting into existing roles. Remember, being a founder is very overwhelming, and the word is very uncomfortable, especially for me but it isn’t about just “having a title.” It’s about creating, innovating, and believing in your path, even when it’s terrifying, demotivating and sometimes we feel we are going towards failure. Quit focusing on: 1. Settling for predictable careers. 2. Avoiding risks for fear of failure. There’s a limit to how far traditional roles can take you. Why do we do the work we do? Typical answers for me would be: "To find purpose & meaning, to express my talents, to be respected, to make an honest living." However, the other day, I became aware of a deeper motivation fueling my entrepreneurial venture these past many years. I discovered that, at the core, I've been driven by a need to PROVE myself. To prove that leaving behind a stable job in pursuit of a "crazy" dream was the right choice. To prove that following our inner calling is a viable alternative to a more traditional career path. "Trust me" is what I told my closest friends and family. "You may not understand now, but I know what I'm doing. In time you will see the results." This sentiment has been alive within me for the past 13 years. It has taken me well beyond my comfort zone and been a source of great creativity. Many times over I've witnessed the transformational impact of the tools and processes we have created. And yet, there was always something more to prove... ...until now. It's time to replace the energy of "proving" with something else. Not sure yet what it is but being ready to ask this question already feels like a big step.
