#indiasportsindustry With cricket being so dependent on weather especially rain, why is it so difficult to make the pitch absolutely dry in 10 minutes by sucking all the moisture? Can't a heavy duty electrical heating machine be designed instead of these fans? Some things in sports just keeps getting dragged with same old solutions!! #sportsbiz #sports #sportsindustry

Prashant Joglekar Actually it boils down to money. Almost everything in Sports is heavily insured so nobody loses money in a rained off scenario. Baaki cheezein like Crowd Experience, Full match not being played... all this goes to the background. Nobody is willing to invest hugely into this, coverage is a different matter so you will see innovations like Spider Cam, Hawk Eye, Buggy Camera, so on and so forth.

Frankly speaking I’ve never understood why we can’t have bigger covers and a more planned way of covering the whole field when it rains. I really don’t think it’s rocket science. These fans were a joke and a rather pathetic one.
