Partner Highlight: Human Rights Campaign As Pride Month comes to a close, PCA America remains committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ children, youth, and families who continue to fight to live openly and authentically and to raise their families free from the threat of harm. LGBTQ+ youth are at greater risk for involvement in the child welfare system, and at PCA America we are working with organizations like the Human Rights Campaign to ensure all LGBTQ+ youth and families are safe, strong, and have equal rights and opportunities. Thank you, HRC for making prevention possible through our partnership. #PCAAmerica #PartnerInPrevention #CommunityPartners #PartnerSpotlight #PreventionIsPossible #Gratitude #StrongFamilies #HealthyCommunities #EqualityForAll #ProjectThrive

We know that every child deserves safety, stability and love. 🌈We also know that LGBTQ+ youth enter the child welfare system for the same reasons that other youth enter care: their biological families are unable to provide a safe, stable, and nurturing home for them, both for reasons unrelated to the youth’s self-expression and sometimes for reasons tied to rejection of a child’s identity. The good news is that with foster and adoptive parents who acknowledge, respect and support our LGBTQ+ youth in ways that nurture their health, safety and growth, these young people can develop the strength and self-confidence to become successful adults. But to do that, Family Support Services needs affirming foster and adoptive parents – like you! 💙 Learn more about fostering with FSS at https://lnkd.in/ePeeDJfh. A year ago we started our series called "Connecting Conversations." Our goal is to bring together great minds from different sectors, all trying to tackle the same problem. So, in this first one, we brought together leaders from the nonprofit, academic, and start-up sectors who are experts in Culturally Competent Care for LGBTQ+ Communities. A highly engaging, unscripted, real conversation was had with Kellan E. Baker, Gaurang Choksi, and David (Hyunmin) Yu. Follow the link for full video and great clips!

Today, we honor and celebrate the legalization of gay marriage in The United States. While we have made much progress, we still have miles to go. For more than half of the state’s LGBTQ+ community, food on the table isn’t always a given. Hunger is not a temporary emergency—it’s an ongoing crisis in Massachusetts. According to our fourth annual statewide report, focusing investments on food pantries that serve LGBTQ+ communities could improve food equity and access.
