In the beginning of this month I went to Taiwan for two weeks to perform a hardware upgrade on one of our most innovative tools. The ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology Particle Removal Tool (PRT) allows our customers to pick and remove particles from photomasks with the ability to directly analyze the composition of the particles via EDX, to help identify the particle source. The PRT achieved to be the first tool of our mask repair segment that is located directly in a wafer fab.

This masterpiece of technical innovations is one of the reasons why I'm still fascinated by the semiconductor industry after more than 10 years working in this field.
