To be a good customer support specialist: * you must be patient, empathetic, and have good listening skills. * You should also be calm under pressure and handle difficult situations. * Don't assume your customers know everything; instead, explain things to them as if they are five years old. * To prevent having a high-rate customer, rephrase their query or request to fit your comprehension instead of assuming you know what they want. * Your initial response to a customer's complaint ticket should always be an apology. Do customer support/customer service representatives have bad days? Yes, they do. Do they have emotions? Yes, they do. Are they humans with flesh and blood? Yes, they are. While there's a common saying, "CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT," the reality is that customers are not always right. Yes, you heard me correctly. Another saying goes like this: "CUSTOMERS ARE KING." Indeed, they are because they possess the resources (money) that we work hard to obtain. However, it's essential to recognize that the king is not always right. Dear customers, as you interact with any customer support agents/customer service representatives out there, be kind to them. Be considerate in your speech and actions, as they are fellow humans. Do not unload your frustrations onto them. Show them love by being gentle, as they, too, make mistakes, have bad days, and experience emotions. Your harsh words can leave a lasting scar on someone's heart. As they eagerly serve you with dedication, selflessness, and empathy, acknowledge their efforts by speaking kindly to them. Working as a customer support or customer service representative is not an easy role, so let's make their job enjoyable and manageable.
