While National Forklift Safety day may be over, our commitment to safety continues every single day! Today, we're highlighting common forklift safety mistakes to avoid👇 ➡️Inadequate Maintenance: Regular inspections and maintenance are crucial to ensure forklifts are in optimal working condition. Neglecting this can lead to unexpected breakdowns and accidents. ➡️Excessive Speed: Operating a forklift at high speeds increases the risk of collisions and mishaps. Always adhere to the recommended speed limits. ➡️Overloading: Exceeding the forklift's load capacity can cause it to tip over, leading to severe accidents. Ensure loads are within the specified limits. ➡️Ignoring Safety Protocols: Safety protocols are in place for a reason. Skipping steps like wearing seatbelts, performing pre-operation checks, and following proper loading techniques can result in preventable accidents. Proper training, regular maintenance, and constant vigilance are key to preventing accidents and ensuring a safer workplace for everyone. Remember, forklift safety is not just a one-day event but a daily priority. Stay safe and make forklift safety a part of your everyday routine! #ForkliftTraining #ForkliftSafety #OSHAcertified #accidentprevention #nationalforkliftsafetyday

Very good reminder of why forklift operations mandate understanding and safe practices. Forklifts are a teeter-totter on the front axle. Center of gravity is a core concept, independent of total capacity.

Never lift beyond the forklift’s Safe Working Load (SWL). Only trained and certified operators should use forklifts, with regular updates to training to include new safety protocols and equipment. Before operation, inspect the forklift for any visible damage or leaks, ensure all controls, lights, and warning devices are functioning properly, and verify that the tires are properly inflated and in good condition. Ensure the work environment is clear of obstacles and hazards, be aware of floor conditions such as wet or slippery surfaces, and stay alert for pedestrians and other vehicles. Do not exceed the forklift's load capacity, and make sure loads are stable, balanced, and secure. Keep loads low and tilted back while transporting. Always wear a seatbelt if the forklift is equipped with one, drive at a safe speed, and avoid sudden stops or sharp turns. When parking the forklift, lower the forks to the ground, turn off the engine, remove the key, and use the parking brake to prevent movement. Follow the established emergency response plan in case of an accident. #riskassessment #safetyawareness #workplacesafety #safetyculture #safetyfirst #safetytraining #processsafety #forkliftfailure #workplaceaccident #hseprofessionals #ppe
