One of the most exciting days of the semester, Senior Design II presentations. This year particularly exciting as we “unveil” an amazing hand held forcespinning based Nanofiber making device. This has been right on my heart for over a decade, several students have worked on, we have developed a variety of prototypes and now the smallest highly efficient ever developed. Recently, I experienced the care of severe bed sores on my stepdad, on top of all his ailments, painful and scary wounds, as he entered the gates of Heaven just this past week, others should not endure what he went through. Placing gauzes, manipulating the sore, taking away the gauzes…… now we can just spray on it, the fibers conform to the wound, fibers serve as an scaffold for tissue regeneration, they can be doped with a variety of antibacterial/anti inflammatory agents and still water based to be gently removed with water, no pulling not causing further injuries to the surrounding tissue. We held our first science fair, and it was met with much excitement. I was particularly impressed by one very simple project. The execution was flawless, with meticulous adherence to the scientific method, including a clear explanation of the hypothesis, fair test, control, observations, etc. The use of an infographic for the presentation added a wow factor. It's exciting to witness the advancements in the field of Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs), which stir up fond memories of my early research days. As an undergraduate student , I explored parity-time (PT) symmetry breaking in BECs [1], a theoretical concept with intriguing implications. Fast forward to today, and #oqtant #Infleqtion is empowering everyone with tools to delve into the world of BEC. It's exciting to witness the advancements in the field of Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs), which stir up fond memories of my early research days. As an undergraduate student , I explored parity-time (PT) symmetry breaking in BECs [1], a theoretical concept with intriguing implications. Later, I learnt a lot about BEC of quasi particles like magnons, etc but that’s for another post.
