I don't pretend to be an expert on this, but this is one of the many reasons I love working at Feather Down Farms. As a society, we're witnessing the rise of screen addiction among our children, I know we are as a family.   Recent studies have shown that prolonged exposure to screens can lead to issues like sleep disturbances, obesity, poor academic performance, and even developmental delays. 😔 Here are a few steps I have started to try and implement in our house: 📺 Set Screen Time Limits: Establish clear guidelines for screen time and stick to them. We encourage outdoor activities, reading, and imaginative play as alternatives. 🤳 Lead by Example: My children often mimic my behaviour so I am conscious of my screen time and leave my phone in other rooms of the house to remove the temptation for me to scroll or respond to messages 💻 Create Tech-Free Zones: Designated areas in our home where screens are not allowed, such as our dining table or the kids' bedrooms, to promote quality family time. 🏕️ Enjoy a Feather Down weekend often   #ScreenTime #ChildHealth #DigitalWellBeing #ParentingTips #Education #HealthyHabits

Central Bucks MobilePack Let’s do a quick walk down memory lane: 1. Central Bucks MobilePack had its beginnings in 2013. 2. Since 2013, we have packed 6,563,160 meals! 3. Since 2013, we’ve appreciated the support of 23,515 community volunteers! 3. Since 2013, we’ve raised approximately $1,663,290! Our community pays for the meals so the efforts of frontline NGO’s and missions, doing the hard work in the field, don’t incur that financial burden. 4. THE BIG AND BEST NUMBER: 17,981 kids have gotten a hot meal/day for an entire year! The need remains staggering and sadly steady. 6,200 kids die every day from starvation and malnutrition. EVERY DAY! Our effort makes a difference and provides HOPE for people all over the world. The food we’ve packed over the last 10 years has gone to 23 countries on 4 continents to people in their most desperate hour. And it’s all possible because you've cared enough to offer two hours of your time, have some fun and pack some meals. We hope you’ll join us again May 16-20 at beautiful Delaware Valley University in Doylestown. Registration to volunteer opens in early April. Camden is a vibrant, multicultural borough, with 45.4% of Camden residents born outside the UK, contributing to its rich diversity, albeit with significant socio-economic challenges: - At 41%, Camden has the second-highest poverty rate in London.  - Camden faces the worst housing affordability in the capital.   - London’s Black and Asian communities have been disproportionately affected by the cost-of-living crisis.  - Over 2 in 5 Bangladeshis and nearly 1 in 3 Black Londoners live in overcrowded housing conditions in Camden, which is considerably higher than the UK average.  - There has been a 39% rise in hate crimes all over London in 2023 compared to 2022. Our incredible community researchers are examining the impact of structural racism on housing, education, employment, and safety across the borough.  Findings from our research will inform policy recommendations aimed at key development areas, such as enhancing community infrastructure, improving educational quality with better cultural training and diverse curriculum design, and fostering pathways to employment through collaboration with local businesses. One of the biggest challenges nonprofits face is having their message heard and understood. Did you know that 40% of 11 year-olds in England from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school unable to read to the expected standard? Through Chapter One, a number of my Mishcon de Reya LLP colleagues and I are volunteering online for 30 minutes a week to help disadvantaged children improve their reading skills.
