We know there is a shortage of high-quality, well-trained sales staff (and managers) in the United Kingdom. As a result, we know that salespeople are having the wrong conversations with their customers and prospects. Most often centered on the transactional, sales conversations are feature focused, lack commercial awareness and add little value to the customer. It's a fact. Little wonder, then, that we have a productivity challenge in the UK. With this in mind, it was such an inspiration for me to spend valuable time last week with this fine group of #scania sales professionals, who brilliantly demonstrated an entirely different approach. Indeed, a very different conversation, centered on the customer, their business context, and what #value really means through the customer lens. Sounds easy? Well it isn't. It really isn't. It takes a fundamental change in behaviour. That's #learning.
