A group of protectors from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine recently gathered in Hampton, NH for good conversation and lots of laughs. With a robust virtual workforce, events like these are just one way our teammates stay connected. 🤝

"Public input is truly a double-edged sword, one we can wield with equal potential for defense or attack (typically, it's the latter). It may be hard to believe that two or three minutes of public testimony can change the fate of our neighbors and communities, especially if it feels like we are the only adults in a room full of hangry toddlers. However, if we get it right and keep at it, our words can move hearts and minds to cast votes in our favor, to put time and money into our priorities, and we can leave our places better than we found them."
She recommends 4 things to keep in mind when offering public comment.

Do you #MoveOver when you see tow operators, law enforcement, utility crews, Fire/EMS working on the shoulder or on the roadway? Slow down and give them some breathing room. #NationalMoveOverAwarenessDay
Today is National Move Over Awareness Day!
Remember, you can save a life simply by slowing down and moving over for responders and workers on the road. It may seem small to you, but for the people that work on and alongside the roads, it means everything.
Stay safe out there!
'Cold showers' and 'no alcohol' are great for January, but for St. Michael's Lent, we're adopting a whole new set of disciplines. Check out what these coming 40 days include with this spiritual exercise from Exodus:

That's right, warm showers and alcohol are totally cool during St. Michael's Lent. See what the full list of disciplines is here: exodus90.com/how-it-works
As we enter 2024, the team at the Center has been wrestling with a complex question: what does public safety really mean?
The term itself is tossed around but rarely defined, and is often weaponized as a way to build support for punitive approaches. Yesterday, we defined what true public safety looks like to us on The Arc: https://bit.ly/3TOvRq8
We're constantly evolving our own understanding, but we know the real power lies in listening to a multitude of voices. So, we're throwing it open to you, our justice network, to discover: what does public safety mean to you? What innovative solutions can we build for a just future where everyone has the opportunity to not just survive, but thrive?
Share your thoughts, experiences, and ideas below to start a conversation about creating a world where everyone can be truly safe in their community. 💬 ⬇️

After sitting down with Deborah Ortiz during the filming of “IS THERE SOMETHING GOING ON AT HOME?”, the realization of our research came to light. After assessing her husband, Michael’s, Fatal 10™ score, it occurred to me very quickly that Michael was probably a 9/10. The red flags were everywhere and had been for quite some time.
The research shows that relationship issues were the leading issue noted and completed suicide in our research. This is where more time, energy, and money must be spent to help our first responders and their family members build, stronger bonds, recognize signs and symptoms of issues before problematic behaviors are noted, and build good communication skills so families know how to communicate effectively with their loved one, and those in charge of their care, and where to go should they need to seek out assistance for their loved ones or themselves.
Our research shows that there is something going on at home. This should not be a secret. The stress and trauma alone from the job place, our first responders at risk. How they deal with this stress and trauma, and the stress of their daily lives, is also an issue.
If our goal is to have happy, healthy, safe officers who serve our communities to the best of their abilities, then we have to change the outcome, we have to change what we are currently doing.
I believe this film “IS THERE SOMETHING GOING ON AT HOME?” will start a national conversation about what is going on behind closed doors in American police families.
THE TRUTH JUST MIGHT SHOCK YOU.

This is a testament to the healing potential of natural psychedelics like ibogaine, and noble hearts like E. Matthew ("Whiz") Buckley who are spreading this critical message. It is unacceptable to lose another single veteran to suicide as we have all the tools we need to address this crisis. It is now a moral obligation for those in leadership, working in concert with experienced psychedelic providers, to advance these revolutionary treatments, swiftly and safely. After two decades in mental health and a decade devoted to ibogaine, I have yet to encounter a more potent healing catalyst.
