I have recieved a number of questions about the accuracy of the CenterPoint Energy outage map associated with hurricane #beryl. So far, for those customers that have estimated restoration times shown on the map, our experience has been that they are generally accurate. Now for the frustrating part. There are two frustrating scenarios as it relates to our outage map: (1) where the map says you are energized but you are not; and (2) where there is no estimated restoration time at all. For those customers where the map shows they are energized but they are not, those are "nested outages" in industry lingo, or a small cluster of outages due to localized damage even though the rest of the circuit is on. Know that we know that the outage exists, even though the map is not showing that. It is frustrating, but know that we do not think those that are off are on. For the customers that have no estimated restoration time, we are working to populate those throughout the day today. #txlege

🌪️ Hurricane Beryl: A Test of Resilience and Gratitude for CenterPoint Energy 🌪️ Hurricane Beryl's aftermath left Houstonians grappling with extended power outages, shedding light on the longstanding issues of underinvestment in our electricity infrastructure. Despite the challenges, it's crucial to acknowledge the Herculean efforts of CenterPoint Energy and the 12,000 workers who mobilized to restore our power grid. Their dedication and hard work deserve our heartfelt thanks. 🙏🔌 While there's always room for improvement in preparedness and response, managing a massive operation in a metropolitan area with over 7 million residents is no small feat. In my opinion, CenterPoint Energy handled the recovery quickly and safely, demonstrating their capability to manage such an extensive and complex operation efficiently. 🏙️⚡ Let's continue to support and appreciate the tireless efforts of those working to keep our city running, while also advocating for the necessary investments to ensure a more resilient future. 💪🌳 #HurricaneBeryl #HoustonStrong #CenterPointEnergy #PowerRestoration #CommunityResilience #ThankYou #Infrastructure #SafetyFirst
