Psychology Today is seeking subjects to be photographed and interviewed about their experiences with perfectionism for an upcoming edition of the print magazine. We’re interested in hearing how perfectionism affected you—whether in your personal, professional, academic, or romantic life—and how you overcame or came to terms with it. Please email a brief description of your experience and its effects, as well as recent photos and your location, to [email protected]. Thank you!

Perfectionists will be writing and rewriting their "brief" descriptions and experience for days before submitting. :)

wish i knew driving cause & what type of genetic &/or environmental "things" influence it. So far been diagnosed w/ Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar 1, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, & know doubt major PTSD... I was born an identical/mirror image twin that was blessed to have for 27yrs! Talk about competition in/with life as is, i competed with my exact clone for 27yrs ALWAYS striving to be the prettier, better, skinnier, most gracious, loving, unbitchiest person. Just trying to make myself seem perfect, at least best i could up on her! Question I was top executive assistant + for two different high profile, high maintanance litigation attorneys in Dallas, TX. Nothing less than perfect was EVER acceptable. I pushed myself WAY over the limit "trying" to be perfect for one boss or another. I did learn a WHOLE LOT, bad ass work ethic any many valuable skllls/tools that are still instilled im me today! Quite honestly, NOT worth the mental wear and tear it did to my brain!!! And has set me back already further from above mentioned One side of family HATED fat people! Their was always drive to be skinny, not to mention high school, fashion.. Now, TIRED! Peeps always say, dont care what people think, cant help but NOT!
