More than a million Texans lost power over Memorial Day weekend due to severe storms. This week, 4% of the U.S. population – roughly 12 million people – are expected to experience dangerous heat waves. The White House recently announced a collaboration with 21 states to modernize the U.S. electric grid and make it more efficient. This initiative, crucial for infrastructure resiliency, focuses on upgrading existing grids with technologies like advanced conductoring, which can handle more electricity and improve power distribution during extreme weather.
