Our Supply Division has been putting the right equipment in the hands of prehospital providers and tactical teams for the last 10 years. We've pushed the idea of lighter kits with the most functionality possible via our MedMag series. These kits are some of the lightest on the market, and we achieved that by trimming down the stuff that doesn't matter. When you pull a kit out to take care of an injury, these kits have all you'll need for that injury type and nothing else. For our officers, we have the hybrid series so they can stash an IFAK in the same footprint as an AR-15 magazine. While these kits have been rocking along for a few years now, our Supply Division has been behind the scenes helping departments across the nation get the right medical supplies in tight budgets. The IDBIIIG hosted a webinar "Impaired Driving Behavioral Interventions Across the Globe" on March 13th highlighting current evidence-based impaired driving behavioral interventions conducted in Iran, Brazil, Canada, and the United States. The webinar had 391 registrants and 244 attendees.   An interactive panel discussed the following: •  How best practices and effective interventions can be implemented across the globe. •  Where are the challenges to implement these strategies? •  What does research tell us about the effectiveness of pre-trial/pre-sentence interventions for the impaired driver population? •  Where are the gaps in training and education for these countermeasures? •  What impaired driving technologies can help with implementation of interventions?   IDBIIIG is looking to gather information from this discussion to develop a more robust baseline of different country’s efforts. Last Friday, I had the honour of leading a laser safety course at Oldenburg Hospital. Laser devices are needed in medicine for many patient treatments, which is why safe handling is of great importance. In Germany, a one-day course for laser safety officers is therefore mandatory and must be repeated every five years. It not only covers the physical basics, but also points out hazards such as fire, explosion and glare. It also explains how to choose the right laser safety goggles.
